Rothbury School

Artists in Residence spend a minimum of 30 days per year planning, hosting or leading events or projects with people. A programme for the year is planned which invites people to participate in a variety of ways.

Events could include;

- Creative workshops

- Open studio days when people can view work and talk to the artist

- Artist's talks

- Exhibitions

- Creative projects in which people can work with the artist to make a piece of work

All workshops and events are free. Some events are open to anybody to 'drop in'. Some events are open to anyone but there are a limited number of places so booking is necessary. Some events are organised for a specific group and these may be local groups or groups visiting Highgreen from much further afield. VARC has developed particular links with local schools, Newcastle University, Bill Quay Community Farm, Byrness Art and Craft Group and Thomas Bewick School in Newcastle but would welcome contact from other groups interested in visiting Tarset and making artwork with VARC.

VARC will be developing a programme of events and workshops with Jilly Morris. Forthcoming events will be listed here shortly.

If you are interested in being informed personally of particular forthcoming events please complete the form to join VARC's mailing list.
