Artists Projects

The following projects have been supported to date:
- A collaboration between poet Linda France and illustrator Kim Lewis to produce a piece in praise of the North Tyne based on a reinterpretation of the Song of Solomon.
- A project 'Black Middens: A Riever's Rainbow' proposed by artist Bridget Kennedy to explore how she might devise a process to ‘liberate’ the colours she imagines have been absorbed by the site of ‘Black Middens’ bastle in Tarset.
Bridget Kennedy has made a number of visits to Black Middens Bastle. She has been researching the history of colour and colour charts which take the form of a circle. She has been taking colour measurements around the walls of the Bastle using a line of thread and a Colour Cue. Bridget plans that her next map drawing will place Black Middens at the centre and work on a radiating theme, connecting the bastle to surrounding places with colours in their names. Her last visit was with sound artist and musician Phil Ogg and Bridget hopes that the animation she plans to make will incorporate sound.
