Visual Arts in Rural Communities has set up two funds that, seen together, have developed ways in which the charity can extend delivery of its aims. Through the Fund to Support Local Projects VARC encourages local groups of people to work with artists to create a new piece of artwork that will benefit the community in some way. Through the Fund to support Northumberland-based artists VARC helps enable artists in the area to make a new piece of work that responds directly to the landscape or communities of the North Tyne, Tarset or Redesdale.
