Visual Arts in Rural Communities has set up two funds that, seen together, have developed ways in which the charity can extend delivery of its aims. The deadline for applications for both funds is 31st October 2010.

Information and criteria about both funds are available to download to the right of this page.  There is no application form for the Fund to Support Artists' Projects but there are application form for individual and group applicants to the Fund to Support Local Projects.  You can find these to download in the same place.

Through the Fund to Support Local Projects VARC encourages local groups of people to work with artists to create a new piece of artwork that will benefit the community in some way.

Through the Fund to support Artists' Projects VARC helps artists to realise a project they propose.  This year VARC is extending the fund and artists who live in Northumberland, Cumbria and the Scottish Borders are eligible to apply.  VARC would particularly welcome proposals for projects that explore the relationship between urban and rural community and place.  particulary interested in receiving proposals that explore the connections or disconnections between rural and urban communities and environment.
