Marek Gabrysch and Lindsay Duncanson
Marek Gabrysch and Lindsay Duncanson will be making an artwork entitled Sodium Orange to Red Shift. The title comes from the colour of street lighting that floods the skies in urban areas. They will be creating an immersive sound and light installation that parallels the transition between sodiium orange and starlight; exploring the differences in quality and character of the urban and rural night skies. To do this they will work with groups in Tarset and on the urban fringes of Tyneside to make night-time field recordings and recordings of human vocals making sounds.
The edited sound piece, with the addition of video and light projections, will form Sodium Orange to Red Shift and will be installed in a venue in the area in Autumn/Winter 2012.
